In 2014 and 2015 we worked with one of Australia’s leading orchestras to develop a plan for realising their strategic mission and vision. We also worked with the board and staff to study the feasibility and recommend a five-year Community Engagement and Education Plan which continues to make the orchestra a key part of the social and cultural fabric of Melbourne, Australia.

We wrote the Design Out Crime consultation report, encapsulating the results of consultation and research with local community members in the crime hotspots of Wagga Wagga, amongst Australia’s most socio-economically disadvantaged areas. This was a Wagga Wagga City Council project, funded by the Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. The report informed government and community approaches to reducing crime by addressing urban design and social issues.
We facilitated a day-long strategic workshop with the Macquarie University Department of Sociology. The group commended the day, calling it the best they had ever attended and praising our ability to pull together complex and specialised ideas with the group.
We facilitated roundtable consultations with more than 60 artists and art sector representatives for Creative Victoria as part of the development of a Victorian arts and culture strategy. The report informed the Victorian government in developing its vision for the Victorian arts and cultural sector.
We conducted forensic data research into Australia’s cultural engagement with Asia and facilitated five roundtables with about 60 artist and organisational representatives. The research was used to produce a seminal research report on cultural exchange with Asia, launched in November 2013.
Jackie’s research for the Australia Council for the Arts into defining, measuring and reflecting on artistic vibrancy has been used by agencies across Australia and internationally. In 2014, we worked with the Australia Council to publish a world-first e-book on articulating impact.
The Australia Council for the Arts is Australia’s leading government funding agency. In 2013, we conducted an in-depth and large-scale PEST report for the agency to prepare its five year strategic plan. Throughout 2014 we worked with the agency to develop its strategic framework.
